Need to find an Arizona-base car insurance company. Not too expensive, open 24 hrs. preferably because always had it that way. Do not want to deal with insurance companys base in California.

Personally I would never go with a company that was cheap and was only through a 1-800 line. I always believe you get what you pay for. Some people are fine with it, but I have known people who go with lesser known cheaper companies and have regretted it later. I have been with State Farm since I was 16 and have never had an issue with them. Plus, I love my agent and he takes care of me. Also, since I've been with them for 16 years my rates are untouchable.

But since you are asking, I hear Farmers is super cheap. I don't know if they are 24 hrs though.

This is who we have been with for about 5 years now. They have given us GREAT service and definately the BEST prices we have found anywhere. We occasionally search elsewhere to make sure we have the best rates, and no one ever compares!
We are in Bullhead City, but his office is in Tempe...He has been a great agent! I didn't care much for the first agent we had, but got a new agent shortly after and James has been GREAT!

Here in New York, i've used geico for years.

They saved me 50 percent on my bill, and provided excellent service when i had a fender bender.

For a 50 percent savings, I don't need a dedicated agent, i'm perfectly capable of calling a 1800 number, and getting a claim handled.

I will stay with them when i move to az, and I expect my rates to rise slightly .

I suspect your rates will increase a LOT. Phx is horrible for accidents and such, so our insurance is higher than most places. A lot also depends on the zipcode that live.

I was with AIG and had good rates until I added a teenage son. That's a killer anywhere with any company, however, I started shopping. I was referred to Liberty Mutual by a Met Life agent. It saved me over $3000 a year compared to AIG. Geico was one of the company's I checked with. They were about $20.00 cheaper than AIG.

You're just going to have to shop around. Every companies have different programs. We use Paul Gephardt with American Family Insurance and are very happy with the affordable, personalized service they provide. They can be reached at (480)632-0909.

Excellent points!
Cheaper isn't always better. It's wise to check out the insurance company prior to making any hasty decision.

State Farm is excellent. I've been with them for a long time, and have never had a problem. They're always reliable, fast, and friendly - unlike many other insurance agencies that might be cheaper.
They will raise your rates if you have traffic violations; but what insurance company doesn't????
