I'm a picky burger eater and won't touch any fast food burger (In-n-out, McD, BK (though I love BK's chicken stuff)) since I feel all of them are just above a piece of cardboard in terms of thickness and taste, so I usually go for real "diner-style" burgers. Saying that, I will second the recommendation of Red Robin and also through in 5 & Diner. Nice atmosphere and good old fashioned 50's selections

Chicago Hamburger? That's the one on 38th and Indian School, isn't it? Yes, I forgot. Been there. Great burgers. You are right.

I like the occasional In & Out, McD, Carl's Jr. - but there are many fine local places who are crafting good fare and should be explored, if for no other reason that they keep more money locally.

Try Delux, Roaring Fork's Big Ass, the tiny Welcome Diner (pictured), Chuck Box, Chicago Hamburger Company Company, Stax Burger Bistro, and many others across all price ranges for really good grub.

"I haven't been to Lenny's but their website menu shows that they still have the pineapple shakes."

The Lenny's that I frequent at 35th Ave and Thunderbird is not a part of the other three Lenny's that the website is for. Those Lenny's may still have a pineapple shake.

"I like In-N-Out. Since I work in Los Angeles I beg to differ with posters who say Californians consider In-N-Out like another Carl's Junior or McD's. Wrong!"

Places like Riverside, San Bernardino, etc, where In-N-Out has been for 60 years, the place is no big deal. I've never waited behind more than two cars in an In-N-Out drive thru in California. I'm sure in newly expanded areas, there's a hype and a line. But the fact is, it's an Arizona location that holds the record for most burgers sold in an hour and most burgers served in a day.

Yeah I do think they have good hamburgers. I wasn't thinking that type of place though, more hamburger joint, not nationwide chain. I had their wiskey BBQ burger (If I remember that correctly) and it was delicious! By the way, Im going on a diet soon, I better get my fill at these places!

Did anyone mention Maizie's yet? It is between the Camelback and Central and Campbell and Central light rail stops. Bottom of the Landmark Tower...great burgers and good beer selection.
