I would imagine it would probably take 45 minutes altogether.

From Mt. Lebo you'd take the T to Station Square and then the incline up to Mt. Washington.

If you referring to a connction to the 500 bus on the North Shore, you can forget it. The t500 bus will be split in two After Sunday. It will become the 13 Bellevue (serving the North Hills portion to downtown) and the 71B Highlad Park (serving teh East End portion.)

No, I think he/she means the north shore connector, which will be done in about a year.

Yes, I meant the T extension. But even transferring to a bus should still be possible after March 27th, no? Couldn't you just take the T downtown, and hop on a 13 Bellevue?

I've always been confused as to why there is not as much bus service to zoo from downtown. You would think there would seeing as it should be a major out-of-town destination. Right now only the 500 (soon to be 71B again) is the only one I know that drops you off at the entrance, and that's only a few select buses, the other half+ goes to the Waterworks and beyond. Plus, that route is far from a direct downtown-to-zoo path, unlike Liberty Ave. and Butler St.

I don't know, it just always bugged me a bit.

As for the cuts, I do seem to notice a much higher proportion of suburban routes being cut than urban ones. So, if you really want to get your use out of Pittsburgh's public transit, stay as close to the city as you can.

If your going to Highland Park, you can't take the 13 Bellevue. It won't be going to Highland Park. You'll have to go downtown and transfer to a 71B Highland Park.

But don't all 500's (From what I remember) that go down bunkerhill (to wheather going to Waterworks or to the Main ZOO enterance) stop right at the side entrance to the ZOO on bunkerhill (i know its not the big MAIN enterance but still access to the ZOO)

So all 71B's should still serve that enterance to the ZOO weather its a ZOO 71B or a Waterworks 71B...

and easier more simplyfied routing for this area would be to have either all 71A's go to the MAIN ZOO entrance/parking lot and all 71B's go to Waterworks or vice versa...and you could take 71A or 71B for the Bunkerhill entrance...
