"Rust Belt Chic" is a bit tongue-in-cheek--it is supposed to imply that things associated with the Rust Belt have become "fashionable" in various ways (think the Braddock campaign used by Levis). Using your Pittsburgh background to help market what turns out to be a #1 album falls within that broad concept.

I hadn't heard the 58's before, but I definitely like what I hear there. Maybe Hip - Hop is about to take an eastern focus again, with Pittsburgh surprisingly leading the way. I'm tired of hearing guys who can't even talk trying to rap (90% of southern "rappers")
LOL I never was trashed in New York! In fact ghetto soundchek was a banger in all 5 Burroughs including Albany and buffalo ny. In Jamaica im known and respected from matches lane to mo bay. Learn your true history of Pittsburgh artists i am a living legend my success story is ongoing go fugure

I remember hearing it in jamaica in 2000. They were playing all the old school reggae and next thing you know......" SOUND CHECK". The crowd went crazy and it was not just Pittsburgh folks. We played it at our wedding as well. That and the Mail Man.

I am perplexed though by the large number of views his videos have gotten. I'm not tryin to be a jerk, but something seems fishy. For instance, his Donald Trump vid has 22,500,000+ views since March. My conspiracy theory is that there's some kind of computer program pumping up the view numbers.
Donald Trump by Mac Miller rocks. I was probably 50 of those views.
