Most of our large skyscrapers were built in the 1980's, and none of them offend my eye. Besides, I think the 1970's were worse architecturally.

PPG place is really the only 80's skyscraper downtown that I like at all, although EQT Tower has some nice features like the bridge at the top. BNY Mellon Center and The Oxford Towers are boring as heck and 5th Ave. Place is cartoonish and tacky in an 80's pastel pink sort of way.

Oxford Centre is so 1980s I always expect to see Crockett and Tubbs coming out of the elevators:

Anyway, I kinda liked the old design for PNC Tower better, but that is just my personal aesthetic. This would still be a landmark addition to Downtown's eclectic collection.

Interestingly that Lipstick Building in NYC is 33 stories as is the Tower at PNC. (I counted floors) However, it looks like Tower at PNC will be quite a bit taller with that five or six story roof. When all is said and done, it will be approx. forty stories and be just about as tall as One Oxford. I need to see a rendering from a different angle than street level to varify this. The release earlier in the year had it just about as tall as One Oxford Centre when looking at the view from Mt. Washington. That looks to still be the case.

I like One Oxford also. I especially like being around here in 1981 or 1982 and watching these office towers rise and cranes dotting the skyline. It would be nice to see this again. C'mon Riverparc!

I couldn't agree more. It's ugly inside and out. There's a tree in West Park that loses its leaves in the fall, revealing a view of FAP from my apartment. It's gross.

Hmmmm. Not really a huge fan of the new rendering, but we shall see how it turns out.
