Could not agree more.

But I think it's widely known that GM and the powers that built buses were behind that.

Funny, we call those streetcars in SF. In SF trolleys are buses with lines that attach to overhead cables.

I thought the photo of the streetcars/trolleys would appear in my post. Guess not. I was referring to the photo that posted with the above comments.

It looks to me like those do have "antennas" connecting to overhead power lines.

Default Commuting to Oakland

Hi - I live on Mt Washington and take public transit to Pitt. I don't mind it. I always get a seat on the two busses I take. So, though the commute is longer than from/to Squirrel Hill, at least the busses are more pleasant than the packed 61's.

However, Pitt is closer to downtown than CMU. And, near my office (S. Bouquet and Forbes), both the 71s and the 61s work without much of a walk. The walk is further from the 71's to CMU.

Good luck.

Love the photo of the old trolly system in Pitt. In DC, east of Capitol Hill, a trolly system is being built (car's were already bought) and it is meant to connect a long neglected part of the city using alternate means of public transportation (goes into Anacostia). Well I will just do my best to use transport there .. want to so avoid using a car.
