I hope I live long enough to see the day when projects like Sousa's bring back Braddock to vibrancy, then see a thread about how "hipsters ruined Braddock," as if there was something there to ruin.

Also as a lot to do with those that move to da 'burgh and think the food where they came from is so much better than da' burgh and surrounding areas. Lots of that negativity for sure.

That's not "yinzer negativity". That would be "yinzer xenophobia".

Which you have in spades.

Not at all. I say come one come all.

One would think with all of the negativity that's brought in from other areas as food goes, one would open up a place and make millions and show these restaurants/da 'burghers how it's done.

Yinzers aren't going to have any effect on whether, or not this restaurant succeeds or fails, as they aren't the targeted clientele.
Exactly, native Pittsburghers don't purchase $40 Indo-french fusion quiche entrees or the $25 a glass wines to rinse it down with.

I wish Mr. Sousa nothing but the best, but he needs to target the new-Pittsburgh imports and get them to come to Braddock to make his new eatery a success.

Again with this weird notion that native Pittsburghers are only one sort of person.

I love eating at innovative, interesting restaurants and have since before the time of La Foret, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and Kiku was literally the only sushi in town.

And as an implant, I'm extremely impressed with the food quality here. There's some very fine restaurants across the spectrum of dining, and the prices are often much better value than you pay in a bigger city for same quality food.

I'll be heading to Braddock .... I hope it's near the brewery too Top place.

Yeah, yinzers are all over the map and they can't just be labeled as one group. They certainly don't vote all the same, nor do they go to the same church or really anything.

La Foret was sure an amazing restaurant and Kiku was quite good back then, but it has been many years since I ate sushi there.
