Uptown Kid and others,

Any insight into the vibes inside these "mixed-income" communities compared to the projects they replaced? I think of some of the formerly crime-ridden places like Addison Terrace, that whole Mossfield/Columbo development in Garfield, and the Bedford Hill complex in the Hill and Oak Hill in Oakland.

Is there more peace than there was before? Does the crime data back this up? Does this seem to be a viable model? Any places in Pittsburgh where this model has failed?

My apologies in asking this question, but is Pittsburgh on par with other cities across the US with a pretty significant rise in crime? I am pretty sure why there is a rise, but I am not sure Pittsburgh is effected?

Again, I haven't been following crime much as of late. Is 2016 worse than 2015? I figured as a nation we would see a rise this past year for obvious reasons.

You recently said in a previous thread that the city was becoming safer. What's changed in such short time to ask this question?

Not so fast though. The shooter was licensed to carry. The shooter was questioned and released. There was another gun found at the scene near the young mans body. Sounds as if the young man met his match and targeted the wrong person. Its sad that a young man is dead but the decisions we make can impact our lives. Then again this is sad.
