Back again, sorry for beating this drum over and over. But the district needs as much intervention as it can get.

Call to Action for Woodland Hills | APA PGH

School board elections are coming up. If you are a resident of WH, please get out and vote next week. The current board has not been effective at addressing this ongoing problem or holding district employees accountable. Please help get some new leadership in there.

Thanks...

I just can't see how the district can turn it around unless the student population changes. I think the one way they can maybe add to the student population is to sort of have a school within a school. Doesn't this work at Allderdice? Essentially, you are giving involved parents a reason to keep their kids there.

Agreed. Changing the school board and the leadership is highly unlikely to do anything. You need to change the demographics of the district, which means getting new families to move to the area or to keep their kids in public schools. A bit of a Catch 22, isn't it?

A bit late to the Party, but hey better late than never, right? Well, as someone with connections to the District. And as an armchair observer and newshound. With the District setting up its commission. Woodland Hills School District Setting Up Commission « CBS Pittsburgh

Here are my unsolicited three pennies:

#1 - In an ideal World - the court decision would get overturned. The likelihood of this happening is less than that of a Mars landing in the next decade. Unless the will existed to launch a new lawsuit on different grounds and to get the merger reversed. This is the best solution - a dissolution of the District to before the Reagan era;

#2 - As mentioned before - annexation by the PPS;

#3 - Not worrying about building up the well-to-do parts of the District. But a "Marshall Plan" for the likes of Rankin. Bus in a buncha hipsters? I dunno, maybe I outta put my money on the Mars landing first?

Musk is very close to a Mars launch assuming their heavy lifter doesn't blow up
