No. We don't need to stop helping people.
But when conservatives express concern that we may want to check out WHO we're helping and WHO we're welcoming into our communities, maybe we actually have some valid points that are worthy of consideration instead of the reflexive Progressive response of labeling us as racist xenophobes.
Agree with you on all points.

Mr. Alowemer offered to provide information on local Kurdish Yazidi families so fellow Islamic State "brothers" could attack them out of revenge for "our brothers in al-Baghuz."

Yazidis are ethnic Kurds often targeted by Islamic State radicals. Al-Baghuz is a town in Syria where Kurdish-led Syrian forces assisted by the U.S. battled with Islamic State fighters in February and March. The Islamic State lost control of that part of Syria.

Mr. Alowemer said he was excited to meet the undercover FBI employee. They met April 16 in Pittsburgh, along with the confidential source, during which Mr. Alowemer discussed opportunities for attacking Yazidis, Shia Muslims and a lone U.S. soldier.

It gets worse and worse...

Again, when conservatives supported prioritizing Yazidi and Christian refugees, because they dont do beheadings or bombings, we were cast as 'haters'...

Interesting, we've now entered the straw man phase of the thread.

I guess one could surmise that if you support beheadings then you are indeed a very tolerant person. That seems to be the message.

As someone that is considering a move to the Pittsburgh metro area in a couple of years, I am finding the spate of mass murders from shootings and now apparently religious intolerance starting to grow in its most virulent form in the area, a major concern.

What are the contributing factors to this sudden rise in violent anti social behavior in the area? At some point it is going to put a damper on the positive press from the national media and likely will quell interest in moving to Pittsburgh from out of state people. This trend can quickly change the perception that the area is a livable place. That will be the perception by many outsiders.

Umm, if people haven’t stopped moving to Chicago or Houston or LA I doubt that a couple of nut jobs are going to be the sole motivating factor to not move to Pittsburgh (not having a job lined up is probably #1). Pittsburgh is way calmer and safer in my opinion than all 3 of those cities and a great place to live. This is an isolated incident that was well handled by state and federal agencies.

Yes, but the public perception can change thanks to the media attention of these events. That is my point. And also, why is the area attracting this kind of behavior now when it seemingly didn't even a generation ago. What has changed?

Rising rates of white nationalist hate crimes? Increase in memberships to said groups? Take your pick. Now we're about to wage war against Iran, it just never stops.

You can't be implying that these things are a Pittsburgh problem? That is just silly.
