Shame, but we all knew this would come along. Monroeville Mall had a really good run, but it has been on decline for a long time now.

As the current president has demonstrated, just declaring bankruptcy doesn't mean they're closing up.

Also, it's CBL that's filing for bankruptcy protection, not the Monroeville Mall. They happen to own the Mall, along with 170 other malls throughout the United States.

Bingo, just look at Harley Davidson and many other businesses throughout the years.

The owner of Westmoreland Mall also filed.
Obviously, the era of enclosed shopping malls is drawing to a close; hell, they have had a good 60 year run.
South Hills Village near me opened in 1965.
I'm old enough to remember when the first strip mall around here opened in the mid 50's ( I think) , Miracle Mile in Monroeville.

It's the same owner.

Do you blame them? Pennsylvania government running businesses into the ground. One of the worst state's to run a business.

Maybe they're just tired of more people shooting bullets there instead of spending money.

Northern Lights in Baden (Beaver County) was a big deal for a long time.

You people are delusional.

If your business fails, it’s because you suck at running a business.

According to this, 739 Pittsburgh businesses closed and just from March-July. I’d wager they didn’t “suck at running a business”.
