Greenfield: I found it isolated. Can not survive there without a car. I lived in the part near Squirrel Hill. Which was supposed to be nicer, but wasn't. Of all three of these neighborhoods, this was the one where drugs were the biggest problem. A huge drug operation was run out of a nearby rental. 17 year old boys in $100,000 cars, any time of the day & night. I hated it. Even after the DEA bust, it was still bad news. And this was right on Beechwood Blvd, the allegded nice section.

I wouldn't live in the part near Hazlewood because I thought think it has no class or couth. The bars and private clubs were racist and would revoke your membership if they found out you had black friends. Just stupid.

Bloomfield: I thought that I was moving up, but it wasn't by much. I found a nicer place, with lower rent. However, my apartment was broken into repeatedly. My garden was destroyed. And there was constant vandalism all around. Additionally, it was constantly noisy. The only plus was that I no longer needed a car to get around, so I was able to get rid of mine.

Lawrenceville: My first place in L-ville could have ruined me on the neighborhood for good, but it didn't. It was actually in an alley, with the Lawrenceville zip code and a Bloomfield telephone number, so I was never sure which neighborhood I was really in. No man's land! It was my mistake though, choosing to go with an apartment from a slum-lord. It was just run-down and generally unpleasant, though it was never broken into like in Bloomfield.

However, I learned the neighborhood, made contacts, and was very pleased to make Lawrenceville my home. I got out of that back alley and truly into the neighborhood. I found a beautiful place to rent, just as large as any other place I'd rented, but at the lowest price.

At this point, I can't imagine leaving. It has truly been the best neighborhood I have lived in. I feel safe, have had none of the problems I had when I lived Bloomfield or Greenfield.
ahhhh......i think i'll hold onto and heed this review. sounds as if you know what you're talking about from real experiences within these neighborhoods.
thanks
