I'm sure table games is indeed part of it--in fact I think that is generally true industry-wide (that they have found that table games also help slots).

I can see how two person households might go more often if one likes table games and one likes slots..or groups that go now because some like table games whereas when it was slots only, the group would stay away from the casino. I know in my few casino trips, I've played a few slots for the hell of it but mainly went for table games.

Yep. I think the stereotype is that younger people and men like table games, and older people and women like slots. But just in general, as long as preferences vary and some people would be going as part of mixed groups, it should have this effect.

Yea, the demographics that tend to fit is younger males like table games, women 45 and older are slots players. These are just averages though, does not always apply. There's a wide range of demographics playing on tables when I'm dealing.

[LEFT]Moody's Investors Service has upgraded the North Shore casino's overall credit rating one notch, from Caa3 to Caa2 with a stable outlook...
[LEFT]It said that the casino met expectations despite a weak economy and that its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization grew by about 50 percent over the last 12 months. Moody's attributed the increase in part to the introduction of table games in July 2010, which it said helped to drive overall operating performance...[LEFT]Despite the upgrade, uncertainty remains about the company's debt, according to Moody's. It said the casino likely would have to further restructure it debts at some point.

As I keep saying, the Casino is a license to print money. Whether it can pay its debts without restructuring is a different matter.

do they own any land to speak of? perhaps they could sell off or develop some land over there. with the opening of the nsc, I'd imagine some rental units could make a go of it, or even some office space.

I don't know for sure, but I was under the impression they just owned the Casino site (at least I haven't heard of anything else).

Casino parking steep at gametime

jackpot (to be fair, I'd bet their business is down during games)

Since this thread got bumped, it might be worth noting that Rivers saw the largest year-over-year growth in slots revenues among PA's casinos in September (13.78%), which means it moved up the slots rankings from 5th to 2nd:

Pennsylvania Slot Machine Revenue Up 7.4% in September -- HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --

On the other hand, while table games revenues were up too (about 9.9% by my calculations), they were up more at some other casinos:

Some of that is because other casinos added more tables, but still, I think it is fair to say the slots growth at Rivers has been more impressive this year . . . which if you have to choose one is the right one to choose, since revenues for slots are much higher in total.
