Barack Obama told The Politico this morning that the Gulf oil spill was like 9-11 (http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/06/obama-gulf-oil-spill-echoes-9-11/ - broken link).
Then he went golfing for 4 hours.

Yeah hes real worried. Hes real mad and he means business just wait till after his golf game because that seems to be a big priority to him since he does it so much

Slow day at Gateway Pundit?

From your second link,

"The president leaves Monday [nb: that would be today] for his fourth trip to the Gulf Coast since the BP oil spill began nearly two months ago. On the trip, the President will visit Gulfport, Miss., Theodore, Ala., and Pensacola, Fla., to survey the response efforts, visit with Gulf residents impacted by the spill and meet with area officials."

Gateway Pundit left out that part. And so did you. Why?

Perhaps i'm a bit hardened by certain life events, but I disagree with the President. The oil spill ranks nowhere near the impact that 9/11 had on this country in terms of psyche, in my opinion. Will some people harbor resentment and demand accountability and caution in the future? Sure. But on the same level as 9/11? Not even close.

My translation: The President "hopes" that it remains in the American psyche like 9/11 so that he can pass certain climate/energy legislation. Never underestimate the words of a politician. For someone so encumbered with political positioning as Barack Obama is ("never waste a good crisis"), its our duty as American's to view his statements with skepticism.

So he compares this to 9-11 and then goes golfing but because hes going to visit again in a few days that excuses it for you.

Hes also had 2 vacations and 2 parties in a week. Now hes comparing this to 9-11 and instead of going to the gulf or back in the oval office to work because he said this is as serious as 9-11. He made the choice to go play golf.

Obama spends 5 hours on the golf course and spent 3 hours on his visit to the gulf. Which is the greater priority to him? Appears to be parties and golf

agrees

But its also rather hypocritical of him to say that then go play golf. Come on man at least put up a front or play the part.

He's been to the Gulf three times as your link says, this time will be four.

Not sure what you mean by three hours, or by "parties and golf." Want to be responsible (snicker)? You can follow his daily schedule here: Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Actually I *do* know what you mean: you're pretending that he slacks off and doesnt care, know or pay attention, but reality tells a different story

For example, the Gateway Pundit thing you linked to didnt include the fact that he was going to the Gulf today. You wouldnt have known that yourself. That sort of irresponsible omission is what builds up the propaganda cruft in your mind. See?

I have trouble imagining how you folks imagine how a president works. Put it this way. What do you think he's not doing re the Gulf, that needs doing by him? Just start listing the things. It would be great if you'd back them up with proof that he has not attended to them.

It does not matter how many times he has been the the gulf because this idiot can go there 100 times and come back to Washington without making a sound decision.

His going to the Gulf is just a photo op as clearly he has better things to do like playing golf.

We all know he has screwed this up and traveling back and forth to the Gulf means nothing if you are going to do NOTHING and sit on your hands.

Everyday this nutcase does something to prove those of us who knew he could not handle this job right.

He plays golf longer then hes spent at the gulf.

I am not pretending he slacks off I am saying he slacks off

The man has taken 2 vacations. Had 2 parties in a week. Plays golf games that last 4-5 hours each. Since the oil spill

The article is about him comparing this spill to 9-11 and then and goes and plays golf. Its not about him visiting the gulf but about him saying that and then and going to play golf.

Look forget about the golfing for goodness sakes. But I sure wish folks now which includes the President, JUST STOP making correlations of this oil spill to Katrian and now 9-11. Its a slap in the face to those who lived through those two events as well as those who dies.

Believe it or not ... even Presidents have a right to some time off for relaxation!
