Here is a trustyworthy link - not part of the US task force: BBC NEWS | Middle East | Israel warships pass through Suez Two Israeli warships have sailed through the Suez Canal between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, Israeli and Egyptian officials say. Israeli media described the passage of the two Saar class missile boats as a "message" to Iran. Israel believes Iran's nuclear programme is aimed at developing nuclear weapons, something Iran denies. Israeli officials say an Israeli submarine used the canal in June, returning on 5 July.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Aboul Gheit told the BBC that warships had the right to use the canal provided they had no aggressive intent towards Egypt. - which means that Iran is also allowed to use the canal.
A 120 mile long canal and nobody took a photo of this supposed Israeli warship?
Just because one was not posted does not mean it was not there. I have looked for anything refuting this report and can find nothing, maybe you could have better luck if you look.

According to the OP's article in Israel's paper Haaretz, there was one.
Quote:
More than twelve United States Naval warships and at least one Israeli ship crossed the Suez Canal towards the Red Sea on Friday, British Arabic Language newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported Saturday.
The massive movement of this large US naval-air force plus an Israeli contingent is a strong new factor in the continually rising Middle East tensions of the last two weeks, to which Iran has not so far responded.
Why, because they are willing to defend themselves?
