President Obama will make history as the first sitting president on a daytime talk show when he visits with the ladies of "The View." But he'll be missing out on another historic occasion -- the Boy Scouts' Jamboree marking the group's 100th anniversary, right in the president's backyard.
The Jamboree kicked off this week at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, where organizers had invited the president to speak to the 45,000 scouts in attendance. All three of Obama's predecessors have made it to one Jamboree while in office.

I'm still proud of a kid who makes Eagle Scout. And I support the fundraising dinner my local troop has had since I was a kid in the sixties --- I've been nearly every year for 40-something years.
However, I do not support the national organiziation in its homophobia and discrimination.
Not an Obama fan, either...just in case someone wants to accuse me of being a lefty.
I'm not surprised. Of course he would prefer to sit at the far left morning coffee klatch with Joy Bahar and Whoopie than give tribute and attention to a wonderful organization such as the Scouts.
The anti-American liberals will love this non-story. Of course Obama would rather have his ego stroked by middle-aged fangirls than have to honor yet another boring American institution.

They won't allow gays into the organization.
I'm sure if the Boy Scouts were an Islamic terrorist organization you'd think they were wonderful and would recruit your kids to join.
I think he should be at the Boy Scouts event instead of on the gossipy show, The View. But, unfortunately I don't do his scheduling!
