Some of the posts were sounding like they were coming from right wing media rhetoric rather than an understanding of real Liberal values so i just thought an update on the meaning of Liberal was in order.
Manure is manure no matter how you frame it, such is the defeatism of liberalism. Conservatism is a very simple concept that calls for the basic concept of individualism as superior state of being.
Liberals try to make themselves sound complicated and erudite. They don't stand alone very well in forthright competition they seem more comfortable as a collective. Thanks God there are still enough individuals around that believe in the basic tenants of conservatism and the concept of personal sacrifice to achieve gain versus collective pandering.
Nothing complicated here. No need for a messiah or Fox News or anything else. Just generally good basic common sense that is actually uncommon for the pandering masses. Try it you'll like it. Break off a big ole chomp of self esteem and rise to the top of your individual game.

A good start would be to learn just why it is the whining NeoConfused hypocrites run screaming SOCIALISM! in terror at the mere mention of buying a Band-Aid for an American while patting themselves on the back while we build hospitals half way around the world at taxpayers' expense.

What new ideas? The liberal ideas are older than the conservative ideas.
As far as accepting changes goes, sometimes it's a good idea to not accept them.
What I don't understand is after the Great Depression, Roosevelt started the S.E.C. through the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, which provided more regulation to prevent another depression. After this recession, caused by greed and fraud, people seem to be scared of regulation.
Here's a hint, when someone talks about "good basic common sense" they're probably someone who doesn't actually have any real thoughts beyond what is generally accepted as the status quo. Lots of things that used to be common sense are now considered outrageous and demonstrably false.
