I agree. But I also disagree that it's OK to PURPOSELY create a single-parent household. Seems rather selfish to me.

There is nothing at all wrong with people who are well off in live helping a child in need by adopting or even having their own children. The key being "well off" here. That's the part people overlook. If you can't take care of yourself, if you have trouble paying the bills, if you are jobless, if you are on government assistance, etc. you should not be having kids by any means. Does that sound "unfair" or does that sound "logical"? Not everyone is going to get to do everything they want. I'm ok with that.
