Calvinist brought up that the Qur'an says to kill infidels, in context, I responded that the bible says the same thing.
Just providing another look at the matter.
And as I said, the religions as a whole, no, I don't look down on. Religions are capable of doing great things. However, its the individuals who warp and shape religion to their perverted vision of whats right and wrong, thats who I hate. The same ones that use it to subjugate people.

Indivduals may distort the truth of the Quran because of its brutality but not the other way around. It is the radicals who have the truth of the Quran - that is the facts.
We don't have to be muslim to know what it teaches. The koran says to kill the infidel. That's enough for me.
The bible tells you to kill adulterers.

And what are the facts Shiloh? Besides your scholarly television watching, how fluent are you in arabic and how many years have you devoted to scholarly research of the Qu'ran or comparative religions? Please, no imaginary internet vitas if you don't mind.

Do you deny that the Christian bible, the most published document in the world, contains just as much hate and blood in it?
Prior to 9.11 I doubt that most Americans could tell the difference between a Muslim, a follower of the prophet Mohammed and a piece of Muslin, the fabric.
Prior to 9/11 my best friend was a Muslim from Pakistan. Even now, my same best friend is a Muslim from Pakistan.
I've known some Muslims that were on the extreme end, and some that were not. There was a Muslim couple here in IL that started a television station and wanted to promote how folks didn't need to fear Islam and that Muslims were just like everyone else.
The wife had had enough (because he was abusive) and she filed for divorce. The husband went crazy during an argument at the station, with her. He killed her, and then cut off her head and left her bloody body and head, in the hallway of the television station.
Under the laws of Islam, he said he was justified to kill his wife because she dishonored him by divorcing him.
My best friend that's Muslim, wouldn't hurt a flea. He doesn't believe it's "OK" for anyone to take the life of another, even if it's supposedly a right given to men under the Quran.

I've got relatives and former "friends" who would make your hair stand on end with some of the vile scary things they say to me when I go home.
I used to be "one of them" according to what they say, but I've been influenced by those "yankee" liberals.
I try to explain to them, that it wasn't an outside influence, I just sat down and read the bible one day, and realized that almost everything I was taught was good and true growing up, was a load of horse crap.

Oh please, are you telling me you can not understand Islam unless you read Arabic and are a Scholar? I can easily read those who have published such Scholarly material and reaseach as well as those who can properly translate. I did not think you would resort to such defenses. Sad really.
