Outsourcing is real and it must be stopped, hundreds of thousands of American jobs are being sent overseas every year in order to better the lives of people in other countries. Many Americans are suffering because they are getting laid off due to the declining economy, then being forced to accept a pay cuts apon finding another job. Should we not worry about the American people first and foremost before worrying about others over seas? What are your feelings on this?

Bring back trade tariffs!

Trade tariffs established in the 1910's propelled the roaring 20's and the growth of our industrial base.

There are jobs now paying less than I made 20 years ago. It is because people have to work for less so they will have a job. I remember in the 90's I worked construction and made 15-20 dollars an hour. Now I see adds for construction workers only paying 8-9 dollars per hour. With them outsourcing it has become an employers market. They can pay whatever they want and people will have to bite the bullet. Product pricing has not gone down, but pay has. Therefore you are getting a lot less for your money.

I agree outsourcing needs to stop.

Unfortunately the cost of benefits (especially health care) in the US has increased tremendously and firms outsource because it is cheaper. When firms outsource they don't have to offer 401ks, pensions, health, tuition assistance, etc. Also the demands of labor unions has increased costs in the US.

I agree that jobs should remain in the US, but until the government imposes higher taxes on those companies who are outsourcing, they will continue to leave the US.

I, for one, am tired of trying to understand someone on the telephone when I need technical help or even making an appointment with Sears to repair a piece of equipment.

The quality of products made is not equal to the US standards, but in order to keep competitive and make a bigger profit, they will continue to outsource.

With the high unemployment rate in the US, people are limiting their purchases to necessities, so therefore consumer spending is extremely low. No jobs, no buying power.

first of all you mean offshoring......

And yes, I couldn't agree more. Corporate America should be forced to
bring the jobs back here.

I don't know if you can really stop corporate outsourcing, but outsourcing by State and Local governments receiving Federal funding can be stopped. Tax benefits for outsourcing can be eliminated.

Americans like cheap goods. American workers have been overpriced for decades, so other people could make cheaper goods.

1. Cheaper goods made overseas

2. The money you have is worth more then, because you can buy more stuff.

3. You don't need to make as much to live at the same level as your parents did.

Outsourcing isn't always a bad thing. I don't like all of it, but it does make the way of life we've enjoyed for the last 20 years possible. Most people, even though they complain a lot, are happy with the way they live.
