And no where in the Christian Bible does it command Christians to kill all non-Christians simply because they are non-Christians, as it is repeated over and over again in the Quran, commanding Muslims to kill infidels wherever they be found ... naming Jews and Christians specifically. Of course, these infidels can be spared if they convert to Islam, or agree to be subjugated to serve Muslims for which they would in turn receive protection ... but remain underclass to the Muslims.
Here is a video entitled "Islam -What the West Needs to Know", which is rather long (1.3 hours), but very informative, and includes testimony and explanations from scholars in Islamic studies, as well as very informative insights from an ex-Muslim, and former PLO member.
It covers the history of Islam, and specific and numerous Islamic texts and verses, and expert commentary. It covers the history of Muhammed as told by Islamic texts - that he personally beheaded between 600-900 people - that he married an 8 year old, and consummated the marriage when she turned 9 - that in his early years (before gaining power) are the elements of the Quran which espouse peace, while later verses (once Muhammed had achieved much power) contain the majority of the violent teachings, which takes precedent over earlier teachings, canceling the earlier verses.
One of the more enlightening elements is the testimony of an ex-Muslim who goes into great detail about the two faces of Muslim Americans ... the one face shown to the public, and the other quite different face which is hidden from mainstream public view.
He tells of how during the first gulf war how Muslims in the company of western Christians would behave so moderately, and when they were alone with Muslim friends would cheer ecstatically when an Iraqi attack successfully killed an American or Jew. Of course we all saw how Palestinians cheered in the streets for Iraq .... but most don't realize how that was the prevalent (though hidden) sentiments of Muslims here in America and around the world.

This new argument from the Left that America must "prove" it is not religiously bigoted toward Islam by allowing this disgraceful mosque oh sorry, community center, to be built near Ground Zero, is bogus. America proves it every day in the thousands of mosques that have already been built here peacefully and by the fact that there have been no acts of violence against the many thousands of Muslims who live here after one of their freaks murders innocents in the name of Islam (e.g. Ford Hood murderer).
As far as I'm concerned, it is Islam that must prove to the rest of the world that they are truly peaceful and not religiously bigoted against 'infidels'.
As far as I can tell, Islam has proven itself to be an epic FAIL in that department.

If the community center was being built 20 blocks away - there wouldn't be an issue.
It all has to do with location, location, location and the insensitivity being shown by this particular group looking to build where they are, not WHAT they want to build, WHERE they want to build it.
This issue has what to do with bible versus being thrown around and bringing up century old issues or issues that most likely no one anyone knows would support/does support/partake in? I thought we were talking about the 2000's - specifically what happened on 9/11/01 and what is going on today, in 2010, regarding that issue.
Read a very intelligent book with citations to the Quran to substantiate every aspect of the religion and what the truth was about Mohamad. Extremely enlightning, it is a biography of M's life too. I learned basically that M. made up the Quaran, with convenient "visions", the Quaran was written after the Jewish Talmud, and the Old amd New Testaments with M's personal interpretations and own twisted perspectives.

I have read similar books, by other authors. The history of the religion and Muhammad is an enlightening read, and you are correct in the points you mention.
If Muslims knew the history of their religion, they would know that Allah is a false god, one of many pagan gods, on which Muhammad settled because he wanted people to focus on a single god, not the hundreds that divided their loyalties. I forgot now the name of that pagan god, but Muhammad gave it the name of Allah. Most people believe it is thesame as the God of Christians and Jews. That is not so.
The goal is to spread Islam globally to every corner and establish Islamic states that conform to Islamic laws.
The truth about Muhammad has been withheld from his followers, but those in the free world have access to it. As do the citizens of this great country that Islam would like to conquer.
Unfortunately few will bother to seek it. It is not hard to find. Just use the keyword Islam in Amazon.com and you will see some good books on the subject. There's plenty info on the internet as well. Here's one link, for starters:

Christianity doesn't teach that other cultures suck, that's what Islam teaches.
