You might look at it that way .... or you could look at it as we are in such a slump we haven't even gotten close to the light at the end of the tunnel

And no one in Congress should be getting a COLA either Not even a sip

No, they didn't. In both years, Congress voted NOT to take the COLA.

No automatic COLA raises for Congress - UPI.com

snopes.com: Social Security COLA Increases

And, in any case, a COLA increase is automatic for Congress, just as it is for Social Security and VA benefits.

Y'all DO know what COLA stands for, don't you?

not cola increases, just bonuses..

While Congress has been flaying companies for giving out bonuses while on the government dole, lawmakers have a longstanding tradition of rewarding their own employees with extra cash — also courtesy of taxpayers.

That was signed 5/2010.
I posted about 2008/2009. Congress gets an automatic raise unless they vote it out which they didn't.

2008 they got $4100/month.
2009 they got $4700/month.
