The only reason there is even a thread about this is because pundits have the semi-literate masses screaming about a word that they can neither define nor tell the history of.

In the context of the modern developed world, advocating for universal health care or gun control is hardly an extremist position. And he's not truly a socialist if those are his only positions.

Repeat: it is NOT illegal for someone to profess their preferences for socialism or communism in the United States.

In fact, it really would not surprise if more and more people start taking a more serious look at alternative economic ideologies in the years and decades ahead...

I didn't notice anyone suggesting it was illegal to be a socialist. What I do see is a number of socialists running from the title but not O'Donnell, at least he is honest and courageous. Unlike the punks who run from who they are.

Who in their right mind would read a whole book by Jonah Goldberg? I wouldn't even read a grocery list if he wrote it.

Yes of course why read anything by someone with a differnt view point. Gosh the lefties are so closed minded. It is pathetic to see what has become of the movement.

Personally, I'd like Republicans to stand up to their real title. Its not conservative, real conservatives are for smaller government, period. They are strong on personal rights, and want a smaller federal and state government.

Republicans run away from their real label. Christian Liberals.

Capitalism is working just fine. Now, if you want to take a gander at Socialism, it has basically failed in every country it's tried.

Just because they have some left commentators from time to time, doesn't mean they aren't biased towards the right.
They challenge left wing/dem/media talking points - that's what the Left doesn't like.

No, they slant news to their political means, hire political figures as commentators, and donate money to one political group.

They don't even give the other side a chance, and if they can make assumptions on their news show that show that the left is "crazy" they do that, instead of understanding the opponents view points, and attacking them on merit.

I didn't like Obamacare as passed, but that didn't mean there were death panels in it, a theory started by, you guessed it, Fox news.

Compared to real socialists on the European continent, the "leftists" here, quite franky, are rather weak sauce lol...

Making them even bigger punks. They can't even stand up to uttering the "s" word because they are weak sisters underserving of anyone's vote.

That's so 80's, moral value Reupublicans are so 30 years ago. The only one even resembling one was smoked on Tuesday. Christine O'Donnell.

The Tea partiers are pretty much one note, smaller government.
