They're weak because the American public would never vote for socialism if a candidate came out and said they were socialist. If they act like they're liberals just looking for "social justice" then they can at least have a fighting chance with the electorate.

See, the problem with socialism is that it's based in good intentions but the end rarely ever justifies those good intentions. What it does do is make an entire country dependent and unable to stand strong enough against the leader who proposed it.

Only in some very rare cases has it worked and in those cases it only survives because of a vast amount of resources with a relatively small population mostly centralized in urban areas.

Of course when the it hits the fan they're hands are tied because people are totally dependent on that type of system. The government dare not propose reductions in entitlements or they'll be a bloody insurection. But don't take my word for it, look at the news overseas in France and Greece as an example.
