The Los Angeles Times and University of Southern California are probably the best in analyzing California thinking and political trends. Their polling during the election turned out to be the most accurate; on election night the LA Times waited politely for 10 minutes after the polls closed to call the election in favor of the Democratic party and they were correct on every race. So, now this latest poll must be extremely bad news for California Republicans.

"California voters surveyed in the poll repudiated the Republican party's stance on illegal immigration by endorsing a host of positions intended to make it easier for the undocumented to gain legal status. Their support for same-sex marriage outnumbered that opposing any legal recognition by more than 3 to 1. Californians also endorsed an assertive role for government in protecting minority citizens, regulating corporations and helping the poor and needy, and rejected arguments that an activist role for government had harmed the fiber of American society".

Of interest is the number of voters who said that they would NEVER vote for a Republican [20%] and how overwhelmingly liberal those 30 years old or younger, Latinos, women. Also support for President Obama at 64% is one of the highest in the nation.
Does it really matter what California voters think, their state is bankrupt, and they vote the people back in who have been destroying their economy and drowning them in debt.

The state is full of the mentally diminished.

You know..until California approaches the Fed for a bailout then California should be able to do whatever they want. Whatever laws/taxes/regulations California passes is only for California.
As long as they keep it inside California we can have opinions but that's where it ends.

It's if they were to ask the Fed Gov for a bailout is when it's gone beyond the state and affects the country.

They got all the movie stars living there so they have the wealthy Dems that can afford the higher taxes.

California is and has been sucking money from the rest of the country for a while now, you're not funding any other state doing anything at this point so you can drop that ignorant BS lie.

Forget the GOP!

CA's electorate and their bizzare voting record is bad news for the country that has to support their off the wall legislative appetite and the rest of the Californians who were embarassed to have Pelosi represent them.

Who amiong her supporters can pass the red face test when asked to listen to a multitude of Pelosi quotes that have the heads of the rest of the country spinning in disbelief?

Truly Pelosi's district has to be adled and should be investigated from the perspective of kool-aid in the drinkingwater, mental acuity and where Pelosi supporters get all the wheelbarrows to carry their testicles around in. For surely their brains are vestigal organs that no longer serve a purpose.

???????????

Most of the fortune 500 CEOs are from the midwest, despite thier smaller population base.

USATODAY.com

I guess so much for your contention about us poor ignorant hillbillies seeking employment from "coastal" employers. A quick check of unemployment stats will show the western midwest and near west to have the lowest unemployment in the US and job opportunities. However, please stay on the coasts- it is where you belong.

As of 2005 California only received 78 cents on the Dollar for their taxes sent in to the Fed.

If you have newer data please share.

Right! You are totally clueless like every impulsive Republican, ignorant of the facts and driven by mindless emotionalism. You are the classic example of why the Republican party is impotent and frustrated in California.
