If the Chicago voters keep sending the same people back then they fully deserve everything their local government dishes to them. I feel no pity when corruption is rewarded by reelection by the very people who then turn and complain about them.

Chicago does have excellent city services. It really is the cleanest major city in America. Even out of towners agree. The roads are always plowed. 911 response times are pretty fast. There are lots of free parks and the free zoo. The lakeshore is clean. The river is now clean. Trash pickup is always on time. Potholes are usually fixed quickly.

Assuming you CAN sell, for any amount of money, in a collapsed housing market while competing with foreclosures that continue flooding the market.
And in a place with high and increasing property taxes, how many buyers are dumb enough to buy there as opposed to elsewhere?

This problem of extremely high property taxes, combined with an almost non-existent housing market, has the potential to bankrupt literally millions of people across the country--even those who have always been prosperous. We have to stop our governments from taking everything we have, and they are definitely deaf to our cries.
