I don't know of anyone who actually wishes to be unemployed for two years. My unemployment check pays peanuts basically. I have to pay for private health insurance and my prescriptions are pricey and going up at the end of the year.
You? You meant we have to pay for your bills didn't you? Sounds to me like you're not paying for ANYTHING. How exactly are your bills our problem?

The real problem is that there are not enough jobs to go around for everyone.
No, the real problem is bad planning on the part of a whole lot of people and an entitlement mentality run amok. If you don't sign the mortgage loan, the banks and real estate agents can't' sell you a house you can't afford. If you plan your career properly, it's impossible for you to not find someone who needs your services. If you don't take care of yourself, you fall apart and need costly health insurance long before you should. If you have more kids than you can afford, you go broke and wanting (you = if the shoe fits).

Do you see the jealousy there?

But you can bet your a$$, if they ever needed it they would be singing a different tune. Most of you people are too arrogant to think it could ever happen. I have known people who used to feel the same way you people do, but after suffering a job loss, they see things a little differently now and that is why I would love to see some of you people lose your jobs. I'm just trying to open your eyes. Not only that, but it would make me laugh to see how the mighty have fallen.

Is this thinking immature? Well maybe, I've already had 2 other people claim it is. Do you think I really care? Hell no!! And just for the record, I've had dozens of reps for for some of my post on this thread. So it is quite obvious I'm not alone in my thinking. I've just got the balls to say it.

Everybody will always look out for their own best interest, not somebody else's. That's being self-centered, and it is human nature, and I will be the first to admit I'm no different. The government on the other hand needs to think of the greater good, and that is doing what is best for the most people even if it will not benefit everyone.

I guess when we dont like figures we just go to other ones more suited.. dont we? All of this of course ignores the fact that CONGRESS writes bills dealing with unemployment and Democrats did NOTHING about it.. nothing going down.. nothing at the bottom.. and STILL nothing.. Where are Democrats screaming for jobs like they did in 2003 when we had much lower unemployment? No.. not a peep for jobs.. everyone asking for unemployment checks instead.
Where in my post did you get the impression that I was against Mr. Bush. I only used that month because it was a very bad month for jobs losses such a bad month that to date this year we have barely hired enough to cover that month. You basically stated that the unemployed should not be getting two years of UB, I simply showed you some facts that in my opinion more then justify the extension of UB. And it doesn't matter what period you talk about, dealing with todays massive unemployment situation is what is important, go down to your local food banks and homeless shelters, there you will meet the unemployed who believe it or not, were once like you.

Basically you'll never know how it is until it happens to you.

Very true. I have a couple of life long friends who have both fallen from their ivory towers after losing their job that "I will never lose".

[quote=frizzo100;16937989]Some of you people make me sick. You act like every person who is unemployed is getting some kind of enjoyment out of this horrible situation. I really never thought I would stoop to this level of wishing something bad on people who I don't even know, but being unemployed changes you. Every time I hear someone say we are lazy or milking the system it makes my blood boil. There is nothing that would please me more (other than getting a job) than to see you people lose your jobs. Maybe then you would wake up and smell the c.

It is never a good idea to wish harm to anyone.

Go back to the unemployment board, they're talking about a Tier 12 over there.
