I listen to the shows ON POINT and TALK OF THE NATION most days on NPR. I also listen to two local (to Nashville) conservative shows most days. The thing I don't like about liberals, and not all are like this, is that is seems that they are accepting of EVERYTHING. There seem to be no rules to guide them as to what is the way to do something and the way not to do someting. I am sure that most of this is just politial BS and most everyone, liberal or conservative, have some bounderies. I hope anyway.

That is simply not true ...but I do believe in FREE SPEECH...and so does NPR. Although I don't accept hate speach such as that looney doctor on conservative radio screaming the N word over and over...

Lots of people around the world are celebrating this holiday season. And they have for thousands of years before one of your long forgotten popes 1700 years ago decided to hogpile Jesus' birthday on top of the pre-existing traditional holiday.
It isn't all about you and it never has been. In the spirit of the season, please stow your phony outrage.
Peace on earth, not war on xmas.
Ah, yes. Every group is entitled to feel offended by something or other, except Christians. They need to just shut up and meekly accept the Left's denigration of their beliefs and practices.
We have actually gone to damn far, and not in a good way. If we cannot say Christmas, that we have been saying for HOW MANY YEARS now, something is majorly wrong. So much is made these days truly about nothing. There are other holidays to, that get noticed. What is wrong with people these days, truly what! People today put their noses where they should not be, and make a mountian out of a mole hill.
No way i am apologizing for saying Merry Christmas you All.
Totenberg's comment was shocking, and highly amusing, because it so neatly confirmed the stereotypes conservatives occasionally feel guilty about holding, with regard to out-of-touch NPR liberals.
Christmas trees are not religious symbols, as Linus explained so memorably in the Charlie Brown Christmas special. They are a secular extension of the most inclusive religious holiday observed by mankind.
Christmas is the celebration of an event with profound significance to Christians… but everyone else is invited to the party, without reservation or obligation. Peace on Earth is not a gift that can be given to only half the human race. What came into the world, on the day we celebrate, was meant to be shared, not hoarded.

Words that offend others are obscenities.
obscenity |əbˈsenitē|
noun
the state or quality of being obscene; obscene behavior, language, or images : the book was banned for obscenity.
• an extremely offensive word or expression : the men scowled and muttered obscenities.
Why is anyone surprised that a Jewish women might make a snide/sarcastic/ironic, humorous comment about being invited to a party put on by a public, government agency centered around celebrating the birth of the Christian lord and savior - Jesus Christ?

She was communicating on more than one level, as can be determined from the various comments on this thread.

If you put a gift under a christmas tree with another person's name on it, as a gift to that person, well, can't that, like, cause you to become a Christian forever?
Isn't gifting a controlled activity?
There are IRS penalties for gifting.

You just got to love how the left makes themselves look like a bunch of fools.
