One would think it would be less expensive to attend a single college close to home than attending a different college in a different location every semester. Moving costs? Application costs? Transcripts? Much cheaper to attend a state college close to home.

As far as affirmative action cash goes, Occidental, Columbia and Harvard... I couldn't get in to any of them. And I don't think it's cause I'm a white guy.

Hmmm lets see how this compares..

After graduating from high school, Palin enrolled at the University of Hawaii in Hilo.[37] Shortly after arriving in Hawaii, Palin switched to Hawaii Pacific University for a semester in the fall of 1982 and then North Idaho College in the spring and fall of 1983.[38] In June 2008, the Alumni Association of North Idaho College gave her its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.[39] She attended the University of Idaho in the fall of 1984 and spring of 1985, and attended Matanuska-Susitna College in the fall of 1985. Palin returned to the University of Idaho in the spring of 1986, receiving her bachelor's degree in communications

Obama moved to Los Angeles in 1979 to attend Occidental College
Later in 1981 he transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he majored in political science with a specialty in international relationsand graduated with a B.A. in 1983.
In late 1988, Obama entered Harvard Law School. He was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year, and president of the journal in his second year
graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna *** laude from Harvard in 1991

Guess the OP doesn't understand advancing in higher education after all....

You honestly do not understand the difference? Seriously?

Janelle, Janelle, Janelle! Are you aware that most colleges believe that if you get your undergrad at College A, you should go to grad school somewhere else? That is what my university, the U of Pittsburgh, told us nursing students, even though Pitt itself is highly ranked. Caltech, DH's alma mater, recommended the same thing.

Can someone not tell the difference between transferring to a school like Columbia too finish an undergraduate degree, and then going to Harvard for a law degree, compared to Palin bouncing around from mediocre college to mediocre college to get her undergraduate degree? Can you really not tell the difference??
Can someone tell the difference from mommy and daddy paying for college and working your way through?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the OP is not an educated individual. Starting at one decent college and transferring to an Ivy League university is far from unheard of. Going to a different school for grad school is highly encouraged to develop a broader set of experiences and perspectives. That is COMPLETELY different than attending 5 low-grade colleges in 6 years for a bachelor's degree in journalism.

Some people are made for greatness and others for reality TV. Seriously people. Educate up before posting. You're embarrassing yourselves.

I guess you never read any of the remarks about G.W. Bush being stupid etc. and he did graduate from Yale and got his Master's from Harvard Business School. Considered by some to be the best business school in the world.

Leave it to the lbs to be hypocrites

yeah, because every brilliant black guy MUST be a product of affirmative action. Bigot.

(and, while you may disagree with Obama's policies, not even his most ardent detractors deny that he is very, very, very smart and knows all the angles miles before they arrive.)

You're missing the key part that Bush was a legacy who got in on his family name. He didn't earn his way in and it showed in his inability to process complex situations and necessity to reduce complexities to oversimplified solutions.

Smart people could see his thought process was very simple, which is one of the major reasons our country collapsed under his leadership.

Palin Attended 5 Colleges In 6 Years

University of Hawaii at Hilo - 1982
Hawaii Pacific University - 1982
North Idaho College - 1983
University of Idaho - 1984, 1985
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1985
University of Idaho - 1986, 1987
I repeat, she WORKED her way through. Partying and being serious is only in your hate filled mind.

Many people who work their way go to different schools. Lackluster schools, how elitist. A credited college is a credited college.

I'll bet all the tens of thousands of people who graduated from any of these schools have a different opinion then your high and mighty elitist attitude.
