I would say the shooter is a complete deranged psychopath, but if people really want to go bananas with classifying anyone...

The shooter fits nearly perfectly in an extremist cranky Libertarian type mold of fiscally/bureaucratically extremely conservative (to the point that the government now is not nearly enough, and being a gold bug is pretty standard for Libertarians) and socially liberal (such as pro-drugs). He is just a little past many of the crazy militia nuts in insanity and willingness for violence, but up there with the group that wanted to murder all those police officers. If Neal Boortz was a bit more aggressive he could be this kid.

I do say most Libertarian and militia crazies have always been classified about as far to the right as you can get (well off the edge to most everyone). I wouldn't assign any of these nuts to moderates of any political thought, but saying that the extreme right has gone too far is well within any logic to do. Trying the opposite and assigning this deranged killer to moderate left-wing politics is bizarre as hell.

Really? So those people are typically atheist who burn the flag, supported Kerry over Bush, listen to leftest punk rock? Interesting.

Yup, sounds like a right winger to me. And I mean in the sense of a libertarian right winger.

Oh bull sh-t. When the story was first posted on this forum the resident left wingers wasted no time blaming the right wing before the story could even be confirmed.

And now that we know the kid had a rather sick obsession with the Congresswoman, you can stop with the immaturity. He was ticked off because she did not answer one of his nonsensical questions at a political rally. And yet, there are still people like you floating about trying to use this tragedy for political gain.

Just accept the fact that the kid was unstable and that his politics had nothing to do with the attack. It was a personal vendetta.

So in other words the "hero" either has ESP and knew the political views of the shooter, or he was just spewing left-wing rhetoric.
And yes, it is possible that he saved her life and deserves to be called a hero and still be completely biased and ignorant of the situation.

Silly topic because the political views of the hero are really not pertinent or very interesting. Yawn.

"Libertarianism claims that freedom extends to all economic and social spheres and is limited only when it comes into conflict with the same rights of others."

So technically, since none of those interfere with the rights of other people...why not?

A word of advice, you might want to read up on it before debating it.

Bottom line is who cares what the opinion of the "hero" is?

But..but...she lives in AZ so she knows what's really going on. It won't be long until she tells us she stayed at a Holiday Inn last night as well.
