Is congress exempt from it? If it is that great, congress should be chomping at the bit to have it.....

Obamacare extends medicare to people below a certain income level. It does not create a new insurance agency that someone can buy into.

The rank and file congressmen makes 175,000 dollars a year for their service.

That kind of excludes them from the medicare system.

Exactly. The Obama health care bill is to give insurance to those that otherwise can't qualify, or can't afford it. People who have insurance currently will not be affected, and those in congress i'm sure have world class coverage.

Bits and pieces are enacted as time progress.

If you make more than about 40K a year you don't qualify.

Obamacare extended medicare benefits to people who make below a certain income level.

If you make below a certain income level, medicare and medicaid have been extended to higher ages, or throughout your life if you are below a certain income level. I'm not 100% what that level is, but if you are single, and make 50K a year before taxes, I doubt you qualify.

If you make 40 to 50K a year with two or three kids and a wife, well maybe you qualify.
