So every admin worker for every government entity (to paraphrase) ignore(s) the little people and lives like kings and queens.
You do understand that government workers pay taxes, right. At all levels of government.
The person at the local dog license bureau is "elite" - do I understand you correctly.
What an absolutely silly post.
I know, huh? That's why I asked him to define "government worker," because I used to be one of those... and as a public/city librarian, I never earned enough to look down on anyone. And yes, I did pay taxes (LOTS of 'em) during my entire time with the city. Hmmph!
LOL, the Tea Party bases their beilief on the constitution not on the belief that those with differing opinions are intellectually inferior, the left not so much.
What are the tenets of a "belief on the constitution"??

To me:
Anyone who thinks higher education means they're smarter than everyone else.
Anyone with an advanced degree, and mocks and ridicules anyone that doesn't.
Anyone who calls Palin names, calls her stupid, yet by their own definition, she would be smart (college educated)
Thinks civil rights involve issues that are important to them.
Anyone that pretends to respect other cultures, yet doesn't respect individuals that disagree with them.
Anyone that hates FOX, but has never watched it.
Anyone that thinks their way is the only way, because they think they're smarter than everyone else.
Anyone that resorts to name calling, instead of debating the issues.
So, according to this; I'm an elitist!!!
-I'm a college dropout looking to resume college by next fall; I can't stand all the stupid, ignorant people around me. I need to be back with the educated ones.
-Palin? You mean, that pretty politician who's totally clueless? Oh, she's a tea bagger; she probably got ahead in college by giving head.
-Yeah, like the fact that Spanish speakers shouldn't be any different from the rest of the population.
-Because the people that disagree with me are a bunch of neo con fascists!!!!!
-Fox News is always on in every military base, especially at the chow hall.
-Is my way or the highway, duh!!!!
I tend to stick with the actual definition of the word... so generally those who act, say, or seem to feel they are superior because they are either part of a certain group or through some self given sense of entitlement and then proceed to speak down or be dismissive of others because of it.
In any given forum tough you will often see it used along with other terms out of context to try and discredit a poster who disagrees with the one saying it... in essence used to enact a poisoning the well fallacy by misusing the term.
What are the tenets of a "belief on the constitution"??
Ah fat fingered it, "belief in the Constitution". I am suprised it was tough for you to figure it out. Maybe I shouldn't have beeen surprised. Shrug...............
According to many of the comments on this forum, an elitist is:
Anyone who supports Democrats
Anyone who supports higher education
Anyone with an advanced degree
Anyone who disagrees with Sarah Palin
Anyone who supports civil rights
Anyone who respects other cultures
Anyone who watches MSNBC
And quite possibly...
Anyone who is literate
Huh? I think you have this alllllll backward. Except for the last line there.
Can you provide links to anyone who has said these things, or is this all just something you have made up in your mind to stir up trouble on P&OC?
I should clarify...I can't imagine a conservative saying "elite" in a bad way, and thus, I don't see why a Democrat would be called that.

I would add...
Anyone who gives more credence to science over religious beliefs
Anyone who watches PBS & listens to NPR
Anyone who prefers classical to country music
