Obama aint never shutting down the internet... Egypt would be a walk in the park compared to what would happen here... Something the Republicans would do however... They would be dumb enough to shut down the internet... Think Patriot Act...
"Among the most striking findings on the question of attitudes toward President Obama: Early in the Obama administration, in April and May 2009, 51% of the respondents in the six countries expressed optimism about American policy in the Middle East. In the 2010 poll, only 16% were hopeful, while a majority - 63% - was discouraged."
The original statement was about respect in the world, not the Arab states...Nice try though.
"A bill giving the president an Internet "kill switch" during times of emergency that failed to pass Congress last year will return this year, but with a revision that has many civil liberties advocates concerned: It will give the president the ability to shut down parts of the Internet without any court oversight.
The Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act was introduced last year by Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Susan Collins (R-ME) in an effort to combat cyber-crime and the threat of online warfare and terrorism."

Last I checkd the Arbas were part of the world. Any chance you have data that is less than a year old?
The Arbas? Why not narrow it down a bit farther and choose Iran to convince yourself that Obama is unpopular....Better to put your bias in your pocket, you are looking foolish.
‘(6) PROHIBITED ACTIONS- The authority to direct compliance with an emergency measure or action under this section shall not authorize the Director, the Center, the Department, or any other Federal entity to--
‘(A) restrict or prohibit communications carried by, or over, covered critical infrastructure and not specifically directed to or from the covered critical infrastructure unless the Director determines that no other emergency measure or action will preserve the reliable operation, and mitigate or remediate the consequences of the potential disruption, of the covered critical infrastructure or the national information infrastructure;
‘(B) control covered critical infrastructure;
‘(C) compel the disclosure of information unless specifically authorized by law; or
‘(D) intercept a wire, oral, or electronic communication (as those terms are defined insection 2510 of title 18, United States Code), access a stored electronic or wire communication, install or use a pen register or trap and trace device, or conduct electronic surveillance (as defined in section 101 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C.1801)) relating to an incident unless otherwise authorized under chapter 119, chapter 121, or chapter 206 of title 18, United States Code, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1801 et seq.).

Under the proposed law, the Department of Homeland Security would draw up a list of Internet "critical infrastructure" it deems vital to the proper functioning of the web and US economy. The president would then be granted the power to order some part of that critical infrastructure to be shut down, in case of a "national cyberemergency."
‘(18) the term ‘national information infrastructure’ means information infrastructure--
‘(A)(i) that is owned, operated, or controlled within or from the United States; or‘(ii) if located outside the United States, the disruption of which could result in national or regional catastrophic damage in the United States; and
‘(B) that is not owned, operated, controlled, or licensed for use by a Federal agency;
No, it's a very real possibility when our government implodes upon itself and there is NO money left to fund anything, let alone entitlements. The TP and the R's are trying to save us from ourselves by bringing fiscal restraint back so that these (and all other government funded programs) don't go by the wayside. By definition, unsustainable programs are unsustainable.
I often wonder if these left wing lunatics would rather see our government collapse under the weight of its mounting debt than attempt to reform some of these programs. Apparently so?
And that includes the expense of an over reaching military - just didn't want you to leave that out.
Is the New World Order about to lose it's grip on another middle east country?...
