Are you calling me stupid or an idiot, or both? That sounds like a personal attack to me.

Ezra Klein - Unions aren't to blame for Wisconsin's budget

the unions are not to blame for this budget debacle--it was several special sessions of the legislature called by the govenor that put the squeeze on the finances

and to the poster who was so blithe as to post
it is ridiculous in the extreme to think the Americn public would harm workers
GET REAL---
the Governor of Wisconsin IS the American public--one of them--and he has absolutely no hesitation in dismantling unions which would lead to a definite lowering of the standards in the workplace--
and why should workers be held ONLY to raises at the inflation level (which is not even accurate) when management can vote itself as high a raise as it can get away with
and when politicians can do the same--
this is a totally separate standard of behavior and is based solely on the antipathy that Republicans have had for organized labor since the days of the Civil War...
the past CEOs/boards of PG&E ARE the American public and they had no qualms about exposing their workers or people living in vicinity of their toxic plants--remember Erin Brockovitch

The history of American is swamped cram full of stories of business (who are owned by Americans) taking advantage of their workers--
the government has participated in experiments using Americans as guinea pigs w/o their knowledge, has failed to provide adequate protection for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan who were hurt or killed because of lax preparation and substandard products...

And the Wisconsin governor's plan does not affect police/fire/or state police--why if they are state workers are they not going to have to pay the same price to satify the deficit==because they came out for this Governor when he ws running for office--
so that is how he pays back their loyalty...
throw a dog a bone...

As far as I'm concerned theses striking teachers can buy their Viagra with their unemployment benefits. They should be summarily and collectively fired.

Why do you have a problem with public sector unions being subject to the same economic hardships the rest of us face?
Are you that selfish?

I'm constantly amazed by how little people learn from history.
Yes--and it saddens me and frightens me in about equal proportions...

They've broken their contract and are striking while still under contract as well as commiting fraud by calling in sick and then going out to protest.

Name call since that is all you have.

I think you are being intellectually dishonest since I truly don't think that anyone could say what you wrote and actually believe it as truth.

Take from that whatever you wish.

The ones who have learned so little from history are those who squash the Constitution in favor of Socialism.

Look around the Western world and see how social entitlements and public sector unions are bankrupting governments. You cannot continue to spend what you do not have!

Well that will never happen. We own a very sucessful business. Unions have gotten out of control when you cannot fire losers.
