Why do you have a problem with public sector unions being subject to the same economic hardships the rest of us face?
Are you that selfish?

No--I expect reasonable people to make reasonable accomodations--

Do YOU not understand what a contract is???
And why should some union workers be treated differently than all others--
my understanding is that preferential treatment is being given to firemen/police/state police so that they do not have to make the budget cuts the other unions do--and I bet they get to keep their collective bargaining as well

Governor Walker says the state of Wisconsin is in a crisis. He should know—he put it there. Intentionally. Just last month, Walker gave away $140 million in tax breaks—which accounts for all of the budget shortfall Wisconsin is now facing. If Wisconsin has no money, it’s because Walker has been giving it away. Walker created an economic crisis, and now he’s trying to exploit it. It’s a smaller-scale version of what Republicans are doing by using massive tax cuts for the wealthy to say we need to slash entitlements. In reality—not a place a lot of conservatives are familiar with—Wisconsin is in better shape than most states… except for the fact that Scott Walker is the governor.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker LYING About State Budget for Union Busting!
**And mad props to Rachel Maddow for her BRILLIANT reporting on the FACTS!

The major papers and other cable networks have been misleading, fraudulent, and downright negligent in their coverage of Governor Walker and the state of Wisconsin.

Watch it here:

The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.

that explains everything---
give it up--some people are not amenable to reason...

We own a very sucessful business. Unions have gotten out of control when you cannot fire losers.
And what is the pay spread between the owners and the workers there??? Do you pay for health insurance for your employees? Have a pension plan or inventment plans?

Yes--but you won't read Rachael fact-finding on major news outlets or see Fox reporting that insight--
scue and screw--they sound so much alike and they are what Fox does best...

And Walker and the legislators who are following his plan are just ignorant--no other way to say it--
they are cutting off their noses to spite their face...

The pursuit of two wars--in Iraq and Afghanistan--for specious reasons incited by a cabal of men with a very politicized agenda are what brought down the prosperity and drove the US into debt--
oh yes--and then the financial debacle caused during Bush's presidency by lax enforcement and oversight of bank/investment houses and regulations

you can't blame the state of the American economy on unions--nor the welfare state--
I mean you SHOULDN'T since those aren't the facts--but of course you will...

Seems to me since democrats have Soros, The koch brothers are leveling the playing field. Why do you have an issue with that

Do you get that the unions use the money they extract in the form of dues to make HUGE political contributions to get their demmies elected? The same demmies who are in charge of negotiating those very union contracts at the expense of the taxpayers? Don't you think there is a bit of a conflict of interest going on here?

Let me put this in simple terms. The unions donate big $$ to get democrats elected. Those democrats, once elected, are in charge of doling out the public's money right back to the unions. Recipe for disaster.

Have you ever noticed how much cooler people are online. City Data is chock full of apparently wealthy members who have achieved such success that they can spend all day pontificating on this board. Me... I'm also obscenely wealthy. Who's going to call me on it?

Yep, Wisconsin Republicans should be mighty proud of their elected Republicans.
So now you are the spokesperson for the state of Wisconsin too! Amazing, in another thread you were the spokesperson for all of America.

The useful days of the unions are over, the only people who want/need the unions are Democrats and union management.

Unions are blood suckers and a blight on America, it's about time somebody stands up against them and unfortunately it's not any of the progressive elitists.

They only care about getting re-elected and screwing Americans.

How utterly outlandish!

Corporate America and Wall Street are the "bloodsuckers" and collective bargaining by the average American union member is what stands in their way to achieveing their ultimate goal of a Fascist state and further widening the gap between the working class and the true elite. Are you really that inept at connecting the dots? Sad.
