Yet again people on here on read what they want to read, noone stops to think that 3 wks ago the Republicans signed a CR that they did not want to sign, after they passed that CR they said they would not fund another one, it was either the budget or a shutdown and now they are backtracking on their promise?????? You want to spin this and say Obama doesn't want to pay the military, sorry doesn't fly, you can all talk until your heads spin around, for the first time he is doing the right things, forcing these two factions to sit down and get this figured out, if he passes it, we will be right back where we are right now a week from now.

Surely you are all not ignorant enough to think that a shutdown would really cause a drastic change, that the gov't would get rid of all those federal employees you are constantly bagging on and actually address our deficit?

Here is a fine example of your tax dollars at work, the only people who will be getting a paycheck as of Saturday morning.

Where's the logic in that? How about the Dems compromising by cutting excess spending? $61 billion is nothing compared to the total.
I seem to remember a lot of Republican filibustering of budget issues happening, hence the continuing resolution...

Haven't the rethuglicans gone after every program that helps the little man? Did they think that was their #1 job to do in DC.

This government shutdown will show the world how much the USA is divided. There is no excuse for the repugs not to have a heart and continue with the national growth we are now experiencing. Just look at your 401K.

The title to my message is just as accurate as your quote above.

Both sides need to compromise, not JUST the republicans and not JUST the democrats.

Here's a neat compromise. Don't spend more than the amount of tax dollars coming in....

That's funny. Compromise used to mean both sides move to an agreement. But this could turn out funny.

Besides, I HOPE the government shuts down for some time. They don't work too much anyway, outside of the military.

We'd probably all be better off if the fed government took off a few days.
What an offensive, ridiculous statement.

Gee, who would've expected liberals to resort to such things. You people are deranged and immature.
