Pres. Clinton in 1995 found Military Personnel to be essential therefore 1995 shutdown and the military got paid during the shutdown.

Pres. Obama feels that the military does not meet the requirment of being essential, sorry no pay ****-ants.

Senate just passed a clean bill to pay the troops. The Repub Cornyn is saying no, it needs to have planned parenthood attached. The Repubs are moving into a corner they won't be able to lie there way out of.

Damn Reid just laid the hammer down on Boehner and the republicans. Looks like they came up with an agreement last night for 78 billion in cuts, then in the morning Boehner backed out of the deal now demanding planned parenthood defunding. Reid and the dems are standing their ground and if Boehner refuses, it will show what a true coward he and the republicans are.

I suspect the real Speaker of the House got word of the deal, and Michele straightened the phony Boehner out. Put the fear in him, I'd say. What is the PP funding? $400 mil? Holding the Country hostage for that. You have to really hate RW Religious nuts.

If the Republicans gave a CRAP about the military they would not have put a lovely rider on the bill that was proposed to keep the military's pay current during the shut down. But NO, they made it about them. They attached the rider to the bill that they would keep military pay current as long as Planned Parenthood was defunded. What the hell kind of stunt was that? THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT OUR SOLDIERS...it is all about their extremist agenda. If they truly cared they would have put through a simple, straightforward bill and the Senate would have accepted it and there would be no veto.

It's just nuts. They don't want tax dollars to fund health services for women. One time a LONG time ago when I was very young, with no $$$$ and health insurance, I had to use Planned Parenthood for an exam and some medication. It actually had NOTHING to do with a disease, an abortion, or birth control and I was thankful for them. I just don't get it.
