Our socialist-in-chief really said it. Notice how the NYT buries it on the last paragraph. I bet he'd like to do a Tiananmen Square on the Wisconsin GOP.

BTW, Nixon did a Tiananmen Square on students at Kent State way before Tiananmen Square.

The last paragraph of the article you quoted:
How Mr. Obama manages to do that while also balancing American interests is a question that officials acknowledge will plague this historic president for months to come. Mr. Obama has told people that it would be so much easier to be the president of China. As one official put it, “No one is scrutinizing Hu Jintao’s words in Tahrir Square.”

Apparently he's right: some people scrutinize his words to a ridiculous level.

How you get from that to he wants to kill people in the US is beyond me.
I wear a metal headband but I don't know if the world has enough tinfoil to cover your comment.

He's not wrong yoy know. It's not hard to be China's President. The US is harder to govern, but he wanted to be the President of this country, so he must assume, or he can give up in 2012.

I'm still trying to figure out how and why I should be outraged by this comment.

Help me out here.

You really don't understand the context of his comments? He's not saying he wants to be a Communist. He's saying it's much easier to run a country when you only have one party and one set of interests rather than multiple competing interests that are the strength of our country.

I'm really missing the controversy. He's simply stating a fact.

Anything Obama says, no matter how trivial, is fodder for the propaganda mills of the Right.

Anything.

Despite voting twice for GWB, I had no problem criticizing his policies. The left has no such qualms. You folks will contort yourselves into any position to excuse the silliness that comes out of this president's mouth.

Really?

Name one.

One that I did.

Are you really going to tell me that *all* the criticism of Obama posted here by obviously very biased and myopic right wing loonies is rational and valid?

Please do explain.
