Hawaii is a state; did you know that McCain was born in Panama?
Correct on both counts. However, McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone which was US territory at the time (Carter surrendered it to Panama), and Obama's birth is not an issue if he was born in Hawaii. The assertion of birthers is that he was born in Kenya.

That's only the Birther opening position. Every Birther lawsuit has also contained a number of fall back positions... many that do not care where he was born.

McCain was born at the Navy hospital on the Coco Solo submarine base... in the Canal Zone.
That said:
1. American military bases abroad are (contrary to popular opinion) not considered American territory for purposes of citizenship at birth. Neither are Embassies.

Well, there are still people out there who think the Moon landing was fake, the Earth is flat, and that Elvis is still alive. So it should come as no surprise that there is a crowd of the willfully ignorant who refuse to believe Obama was born in Hawaii, despite the birth certificate and the newspaper scan.
Yes, he's undeniably American because his mother was American. But the Constitution requires that he be born in the United States. My son was born in Asia, is an "American Citizen by Birth Abroad" and is not eligible to be President. My daughter was born in Oklahoma, is an "native born" American citizen, and is eligible. The Constitution is clear on this subject.
If your son was born a US citizen, he is a natural born citizen. Full stop. There's no law or Supreme Court case that has ever said otherwise.

So if your position is that Obama has not released his birth certificate, why do you then believe that two contemporary newspaper announcements were forged; statements from former HI Governor Lingle (R) confirming that Obama was born at Kapiloani was a lie; and multiple statements from the GOP-appointed director and spokespersons from the Department of Health were lies?
