2.) Bill Clinton paved the way for corporate America to make more profits with labor based overseas and importing it.
Trade tariffs, kept our labor force safe from undercutting.
If there are tariffs, unions survive.
Without tariffs, unions have to die, or everyone is out of a job, with everything outsourced to a cheaper labor market.
Jobs were being outsourced prior to Clinton ever being in office. The majority of outsourcing began during the Reagan years when U.S. companies began outsourcing manufacturing to Asian countries.

By the way, have you ever lived in a poor white rural area? You know the area where everyone's on WIC, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, they send their kids and grandkids to public school, and a various assortment of government aid yet condemn "socialism?" Yeah most of those areas aren't paying much in taxes anyway, they definitely take more from the government than they pay in. But they have a JOB, so that must mean that every government program every thought of is being paid by "their dime."
You beat me to it! Well said

VN 50,000+ Afghanistan and Iraq 6K KIA. Drop in the bucket.

PS Milo was right, Bubba had no business going into the Balkans.

How about we look at recent history since both parties have evolved over the last 100 years. And calling Kosovo/Bosnia and Somalia wars is comical. The two largest war campaigns in the last 20 years were started by Republicans. And Reagan armed both Iraq and Afghanistan during the Cold War.

Democrats outsorce jobs: see NAFTA and other trade agreements, support of unions, MFN status for China etc....
You are right, if you ignore the numbers and just claim "Well duh, the Democrats had NAFTA" then you look pretty impressive. However, when you account for the number of jobs outsourced under George W Bush versus all previous Democratic presidents combined, your argument is sort of destroyed. The wave of outsourcing began when Bush first assumed office. Bush was so cavalier about outsourcing that he publicly endorsed it by claiming it opened trade.

Democrats are opposed to gay marriage. It's only a few judges here and there that have approved of gay marriage. When dems get a chance at the polls they vote no.
You mean the same Democrats who just eliminated Don't Ask Don't Tell and have supported gay rights including making violence against homosexuals a hate crime.

You are going to have to do better than call my response "troll" like actually contradicting it with valid points. Try again

Are you kidding me? Clinton prevented a mass genocide in the Balkans and didn't waste the lives of thousands of Americans by engaging in a ground war while he was it. It was one of the few successful American military campaigns in which we created peace, ended a genocide and didn't kill over a 100,000 people in the process. Over 100,000 non-insurgent ie INNOCENT Iraqis have died in this war.

Maybe the reason they vote Republican is because you "progressives" show such disdain for them. This thread is chock full of just that. I guess its the last acceptable bigotry.

Yes Progressive lite.

When you see a true Conservative, it scares you so much you call them EXTREME.
You can deal with a Progressive lite, but there is absolute no compromise with a true conservative.

What is Conservative about spending out your nose and building bigger government?
Progressive lite

Why would you vote for a Republican then? Are two gays being denied marriage rights that much more important than working and not having your children die in battle?

I don't get it. Please explain,
Because they don't want to be poor anymore!

But its not progressive. Bush II upped the debt at the expense of tax cuts for the wealthy. Not really progressive.

If we're going to be making up terms, here's one that seems to be made apparent by most "true conservatives" First lets think about their policies:

1. Decrease taxes on the rich, increase taxes on the poor.

2. Cut out the estate tax, so all wealth can be inherited.

3. Cut any program that makes it possible for people to advance in this country without being beholden to someone with a lot of money.

4. Removing laws that make it possible for workers to get paid liveable wages, wages that allow them to save and not just live paycheck to paycheck.

Sounds a bit like an era of kings and queens, just no titles. A small group of people hold all the money, pass it on to the next generation and little or no advancement between the class of commoners and the class of royals.

I'm going to call "conservatives" neo monarchists now.
