There was no genocide of course, funny how quickly that was bandied about in this particular case but not in others....
But anyway, the problem is,unless we plan to go against the UN resolution that we used to start this war,the intervening forces aren't supposed to take sides or help the rebels....
I guess going against the very resolution that was used as an excuse to attack Libya doesn't matter much at this point, the Obamapologists have been shown to blindly follow their leader no matter what.
Sure are a lot of leftist chickenhawks nowadays.
Why don't you just cough it out and say you are strictly against this effort. It just seems so transparent in your case that you would be 100% behind the troops if we had a Republican president, but now you do everything in your power to undermine the efforts because the pres is a democrat. It's not even funny. And you don't have to call me a leftist. I didn't vote for Obama.

I have been BEFORE anything was said about the USA being involved, look back through the earliest threads.I also thought we should stay out of Egypts affairs too....
I oppose foreign entanglements and interfering in a sovereign nations internal affairs.
Don't you?
Didn't call you a leftist, simply stated there were a LOT of leftist chickenhawks nowadays, positively dying(well they aren't dying, just other people...) to get into a war.

I oppose entanglements too, and I support closure of most US bases overseas and cutting defence spending dramatically. That is a libertarian stance, not a leftist stance. I do not expect us to become entangled in Libya for a prolonged amount of time, and therefore I think we are doing the right thing so far. Gaddafi WAS killing a lot of people, and still is, and I didn't want to see another Rwanda there.

I do too....however the left, that considers itself to oppose unnecessary wars, doesn't seem to fell that way anymore, now that their guy is in charge...

You cannot oppose getting involved and think getting involved is the right thing to do....
The rebels are also killing innocent civilians, that is why getting supporting a side in civil wars is pointless, both sides have blood on their hands.
Better to stay out of it and IF the UN wants to get involved, let them.
It's not a humanitarian effort, that is a complete lie. This entire thing has been planned for quite sometime. It is part of Soros' NWO plans. They are doing this in preparation of attacking Israel and making a Palestinian state by the end of 2011. THAT is what this is all about.
You cannot oppose getting involved and think getting involved is the right thing to do....
I am ok with this kind of temporary involvement if it is going to same lives, while being bloodless to US forces. When I said entangled, I mean prolonged or permanent entanglements. NATO is such entanglement and might one day force us to a war we don't want to fight.

Having Libyans die in a war it seems the USA stirred up is okay, because no Americans have to die?
By the way,NATO opposes arming the rebels,NATO it seems actually plans to abide by the UN resolution.

The USA?Not so much.
How did we stir it up? Gadaffi was killing people left and right, so it is somewhat unfair to blame US for the deaths.
Who's side are you on, USA, or NATO/UN. Seems you have picked UN.
