I have nothing against a black pastor (or a white pastor), but why not just a good local Christian congregation? Of course one must take into account what the church teaches, etc...but as long as he preaches/teaches the truth, he is secondary.
How do you know that this isn't a "good local Christian congregation?"
I think in part this might also explain why he hasn't picked a new church home. Wherever he would pick, the congregation and the pastor would come under a withering storm of condemnation.

Two miles from the White House - seems pretty 'local' to me.
I travel farther than that every Sunday.

Am I supposed to care what Obama listens to in church? Unless it becomes a law that we all have to follow the chosen religion of the POTUS, his personal choices aren't really high on my list of concerns.
I hope you remember this if and when Mitt Romney were to be elected president.
“[Pastor Smith] talked about how his baby grandson’s gurgling is actually “talking” because he is saying ‘I am here … they tried to write me off as 3/5 a person in the Constitution, but I am here right now … and is saying I am not going to let anybody from stopping me from being what God wants me to be.’”
