During the trial it emerged that on a 26-mile long stretch on the southern part of the New Jersey Turnpike minorities accounted for 46 percent of the drivers stopped, even though they were only 15 percent of the speeders.
Whitman also kept her mouth shut in early February when Emblez Longoria, a New Jersey state trooper, filed suit against his department claiming that he was being pressured to make illegal stops of black and hispanic drivers in order to fulfill his arrest quotas. Longoria, who is hispanic, alleges that he was denied promotions and harassed by his superiors when he refused to pull over drivers using racial profiling
ACLU of New Jersey Files Turnpike Racial Profiling Lawsuit The search did not reveal contraband or evidence of any crime. After the search, Nevius checked the back of his car and saw that his tail lights were both working. When he mentioned this to the police officer, the officer laughed. He then issued Nevius a "warning" ticket for the alleged inoperative tail light. ACLU of New Jersey Files Turnpike Racial Profiling Lawsuit | American Civil Liberties Union
Settlement for 4 in racial profiling case The four men - Danny Reyes, Rayshawn Brown, Jarmaine Grant and Keshon Moore - were traveling from New York to basketball tryouts at North Carolina Central University in April 1998 when they were pulled over by two white troopers near Trenton. The troopers said the van was speeding. After stopping, the van rolled back suddenly and Troopers John Hogan and James Kenna fired into it, injuring Reyes, Brown and Grant. Settlement for 4 in racial profiling case - New York Daily News
Troopers John Hogan and James Kenna pleaded guilty on Tuesday on charges of obstructing the investigation into the April 1998 shootings. They admitted to the court that they had lied to superiors investigating the shootings and that they had intentionally misrepresented the race of other drivers they had stopped in an effort to cover up the fact they were targeting racial minorities
Sorry but the NJSP hasn't a leg to stand on. Their history of harassing, profiling, and lying on official documents in order to violate the rights of minorities destroys any semblance of credibility and professionalism this organization may have ever had.
Yeah go ahead, be the typical ghetto supporter and get right behind a cop killer endorser. Go ahead and support the really bad judgement of the Obama's to do this during Police Week in DC. It is a HUGE slap in the face to the LE community and the American people will NOT forget about this and all the other anti-American activities that come from that pathetic bunch.

Yup totally agree, I guess it was a slow news day (although I'm sure there are worth while things they could report).
Now I will say the NJ police probably heard "rapper" and didn't care if it was Elmo from Sesame Street rapping...the only imagery conjured up is Ice T's Cop Killer, and I'm sure that is the source of their malcontent. Given the vast majority of today rap is misogynistic, profane, and contains lyrics glorifying drugs, degrading the police, I'm sure they played the odds and lumped Common in that group.
Unfortunately they were wrong, and now they're exploited by those who would seek a distraction from real issues. In fact Common has spoken out many times on the pollution of mainstream rap and how disappointed he is in it.
Anyway, I give this like 2 more days and it'll be history.
The only people who hate cops like you do are criminals or people who are in constant contact with them for the wrong reasons.
Who said I hated cops? I love cops.
I hate bad, crooked, corrupt cops.
And there are too many in this state and country.
