At $50 a light bulb, it might be cheaper to tos the oven everytime the light bulb burns out and buy a new one.. haha..

A light bulb for heat will be needed, hung so that its height above the chicks can be adjusted. A stronger bulb works better. Have a spare on hand.

How do you raise chicks with an LEB bulb? We used to raise chickens...and we used 100 watt bulbs for heat for the biddies.

That site has a lot of good advice on raising chickens.

Buy or find some old cathode ray tube monitors. People are throwing them out for flat screens. Stack them to make a heat wall.
