Either way you spin the words, it is not being "given back" to Syria. Under the proposal it would go to Palestinians, not Syria.

Another old saying is those who live by the sword will die by the sword. Land captured in war can just as easily be lost in war. Whatever happens it's not America's fight.

That's what this is all about, the control of Jerusalem and Islam will stop at nothing to get their hands on it.
A year or two ago 60 Minutes did a segment on a Palestininian doctor who was born in Jerusalem and practiced there for many years. He moved to a suburb and was subsequently not allowed to return to practice in the city. I've looked and never found anything debunking that story. I'd like to know a little more about how things like that happen.

So why should the Israelis give up any of land that they currently occupy and got control of either from the UN in 1947/8 or from wars that were forced upon them by their neighbors?

Then why is Obama choosing sides? Why embolden the terrorists? Obama could have said nothing at all, keeping the US out of it. But no, he boxed them in as Neville Chamberlain did to Czechoslovakia in 1938.

Is our fight Libya?

When Israel is attacked and fires in self defense are you going to condone Obama sending drones in to finish off Israel? Perhaps he'll go to NATO for air raids over Jeruselem as he is in Tripoli?

You'd have to ask him. I believe our best move would be to leave the area and let the countries involved sort it out. I've been hoping for years to have a candidate for POTUS who runs on a platform of America no longer playing world cop. I'm still hoping.

Israel has a Teleaviv and a country, they should be happy with that.

The original argument wasn't about Israel, it was indefensible positions, such as Golan Heights. Give up Jerusalem, people can still go visit it.
The Israeli Government will never agree to give up Jerusalem which is the City of David according to the Bible and the capital of Israel. Tel Aviv doesn't quite measure up to this.

It won't go to anyone but Israel. Should the Palestinians give their land back to Britain while they are at it?

That's funny.
Just another reason why religions suck. They only fool people and cause some of the worst problems in human history.
