Well, for us still stuck in it and wanting a better way for our kids (opt out), spill the beans.

How do you opt out?

Give me back everything that I paid and my employers paid in plus the annualized compound interest I lost by not including that money with my personal retirement investments. About 10.5% a year since 1980 compounded annually.

By my calculations that would be about 800,000 right now. Dirt rotten mother ****ers.

The Repubs continue to miss the point, people in there 20s, 30s and 40s, want that safety net to be there for them. The know, and have seen, that the best laid plans of personal retirement security are very susceptible to the unabated greed of some money men. If the GOP gets it's way, that will only become more and more a certainty.

I've done that, many times.

The only thing I can find is if you're a certain class of fed employee OR a preacher?

Both my daughters have SS#s, never been used.

How do you opt out?

No they don't. They KNOW it will not be there for them when the time comes, or it will fall way, way short.

Don't you think people are perfectly capable of saving for their own retirement?

Best laid plans my behind. GREED, lack of planning and lazyness by not managing thier investments correctly is what caused so many people to lose so much value in their retirement assets.
