If you can't do math, here's a hint:
When SocSec began, there were 15 workers supporting each recipient.
Now?
2 workers for each recipient.
And soon, even less.
If you still wish to volunteer into such a system - well - that's your choice.
But there is no law compelling participation, nor punishing those who do not participate.
Again, when my daughter starts working @ 16, what does she say when they ask for a SS#?

I agree with you, please do go after the source, Congress. But we know that will not happen, why should hard working individuals who have paid in all their life be the ones to suffer, for the misguidance of our Congress.

It appears us little folks are alwyas the ones to suffer.

Social Security is cheap insurance. Anyone wanting out should have their heads examined unless you're a multi millionaire.

It's not retirement. If you want that, you can invest in other ways.

$711.5 Billion is not "cheap insurance" IMO. Maybe it is pocket change for you?

The people who think $1M PER PERSON in unfunded liabilities = cheap, are the ones who need their heads examined..

Nice to know we have the spokesperson for the 20, 30 and 40 year olds. Hey, if it is so beloved give people the option to opt out. Surely no one would elect to!

I'm in my 20s and would LOVE to opt out if I could and instead contribute those dollars to my own retirement accounts.

Taking almost 13% of my money, and my wifes money is not "cheap" (we are both self employed).

No, I mistakable left out "that" and in doing so changed the meaning of my sentence, let me clarify.

Destroying the system via bankruptcy was the goal from the get-go with these folks. They knew the only was for the UHC to pass that they wanted would be to slip it through in the middle of the night without the US taxpayers knowing.
