There are certainly different degrees - various levels of violence - with which one can be struck or hit.

I don't think it's appropriate for a parent to hit or strike a child - period (especially a prepubescent child).

I see nothing wrong with is as long as it's a good swat and not a beating, on the other hand I hate it when someone keeps telling their kids to stop or their going to get a spanking over and over and never follow through.

That's, the problem with the children today, no parent involvement....and when it is needed, the parents say...Oh...it's o.k., just tell me you do better next time...

Hammer- I respect your opinion. But I don't consider tapping your kids hindside as a corrective action as a level of violence.

However, it is unfortunate that there are some parents who strike/hit their children as a form of abuse...this is a case of the Parent needing a severe *** whipping and their arms snapped off to protect the youngin'.
