No TRUE liberal would ever DARE suggesting that spending be cut.
"Lefties" want to cut spending, too. I'm more of a moderate liberal. Dailykos and firedoglake liberals would call me a corporate democrat, but on the flip-side tea party folks would call me a socialist.
Do you think democrats and republicans live in different countries?
We are all affected by the debt.
Then what are you demanding be done about it? The GOP put forth the Ryan Plan and you folks castigated it. I've yet to see a plan put forth by Democrats. "I care" is nothing but hollow words. Your side has absolutely zero proof that the debt matters to you.
Your words mean nothing without being backed by action.
I think the question is illogical. Everyone cares.
I'm with you on this one, who you are should have no impact on how you feel about debt that is crushing this Nation, I would hope we all care about this!
our plan??? it has been YOUR side's plan for the last 30 years. The name of the plan is called, "starve the beast" and was part of reagun's trickle down economics.

Yes, you would HOPE. However, that is just not the case. The vast majority of people in this country have no clue what is going on and, they really don't care. Just take a basic verbal poll at work and see how many people actually know, I mean KNOW what is going on. Most will not even scrape the surface. The rest will make some vague statement, which has no meaning. However, they will know who the last 5 American Idol's are.
And, if people are so willing to do something about the national debt, then why aren't people backing the republican plan of restructuring social security and medicare? Those two programs cost the US the most and it only makes sense to restructure them. However, people will not, because it impacts them.
They want entitlement programs cut. Sure they do. As long as its someone else's entitlement program. They want taxes raised. Sure they do. As long as its someone else's taxes. The same holds true in Greece and they are going to default very soon.
So will the US, unless it gets its act together, very soon.

the first two years of the Obama Presidency was just "righting and leveling the boat", so that we could at least start to stabalize the country after it was destroyed during the last admin. The 3rd year was trying to compromise with the right when they were stonewalling literally everything that was ever done, or was attempted because it was the intent of the congressional right that Obama NOT suceed under ANY circumstances. Now everything is a fight and will be until the next election. Nothing will nor can be done because we would prefer to continue this civil war we have going on between the wings of our country rather than come together on things we could compromise on. That means cutting spending, but it also means raising revenue and having the wealthy class start paying their fair shares, since it was the wealthy class that got us into this mess to begin with. Neither right wing, nor left wing....this is a CLASS WAR, not a political idealogy war, that the middle class is on the losing end of.
