It will either be...

Government through fiscal discipline (or public pressure)
- or -
Private citizens through tax increases

We have a choice. What choice will you support?

Unless America wakes up, it is going to be tax increases to support the bankers, the bureaucrats, the corporatists, and the MIC.

Can't remember where I heard it, but an interesting theory is that when we default on our loans and we get bailed out by the IMF (of which George Soros has some input in), they will tell us to cut things like defense and raise taxes.

I'd personally rather make cuts now on things we want to.

It's definitely better to freely make these decisions that under force from those whom which we borrow.

... I faintly recall something about the borrower being a slave to lender in some book written many years ago

Very true. It's another stare down from the republicans saying they absolutely refuse to restore the tax rates (like they were suppose to, even though they have proven to be a colossal failure) will not cut the bloated military spending. Will not end government welfare handouts to big oil and the other large corporations,.. just smacking Obama around until he caves by slashing essential services to pay for all this right wing pork.

the IMF can't bail us out, since we are funding the IMF.

i see that the weasels in congress defeated the measure to restrict how the money was spent, and it may be used to bail out greece.

Senate Rejects Measure To Restrict US Funds For IMF (http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/stock-market-news-story.aspx?storyid=201106291200dowjonesdjonline000 422&title=senate-rejects-measure-to-restrict-us-funds-for-imf - broken link)

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- The Senate Wednesday rejected an amendment from Republican lawmakers that would restrict the International Monetary Fund's ability to use U.S. funds to bail out foreign countries, including Greece.

way to go, you loser senators. keep screwing the american public and see where it gets you!

Essential services do not have to be cut.

You think Obama could cut back on golf outings? Or on mid-week White House parties? And it's not just him - it's the majority of the well-to-do in government circles on both sides on the aisle. Cut the subsidies too.

This is not a right wing issue. Do you want to want cut needless government spending regardless of who does it?

Instead of worrying about which wing does what - just focus on doing what's right. Government spending is out of control - Bush, Obama, Medicare, Obamacare - it doesn't matter - it's just needs to decrease.

No, they do not.

If private citizens that make more money then they can spend are taxed higher, then no one has to cut back on their spending.

Government spending for medicare, social security, the FDA, USDA, and others are all approved by the average citizen. Even 70% of the TEA party supports medicare and social security spending.

So cut somewhere else, or raise taxes.

Sorry, but I don't buy into the thesis that Dems are victims at the hand of Republicans.

why on earth would ANY reasonable american want to pay more money to watch those ba****** give it to foreign countries?

seriously?

i think people are delusuional if they want anyone to give more money to this government, because it isn't going to be benefiting any regular americans, except those at the very top of the global chain.
